He also takes electrical outlets with him to replace in the operating theaters. The missions promise to be numerous, recognizes Pierre Dervieux: “Thanks to Emmanuel, who is a biomedical engineer, we will train ophthalmic surgeons from Saint-Louis and other cities in Senegal in the use of lasers to treat glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy. »
This is not the first time that the association has gone to Saint-Louis, it all started in 2022. The three friends participate in an air raid on the Aéropostale route between Toulouse and the Senegalese city. They decide to take with them equipment to help in the fight against blindness, a public health problem in Senegal. Emmanuel Sudre, the biomedical engineer, installed a laser that day for the ophthalmology department, 300 kilos of equipment in total which were used immediately. Equipment that will be checked by the team upon arrival. “Our mission and our desires is to continue over the long term to sustainably support the population of Saint-Louis,” welcomes Benoît Combe. The small team now dreams of one day leaving on their own to continue helping the residents of Saint-Louis while sharing their passion for aviation.
