IIt seems that professional retraining is an underlying trend, not a fashion. Dreams of another job, one in two employees in fact, compared to one in three in 2015. However, for five years, only 2 million workers have taken the plunge, or less than a third of candidates for change . Proof that the journey is not that simple and that desire is not enough. Alisson Autin, 31, living in Tonnay-Charente, knows something about this, having to return to her job in the social sector, despite taking concrete steps to become a payroll manager. Yet she was hypermotivated.

After dreaming of being a dancer and failing in the L baccalaureate, chosen without conviction, Alisson knows she is gifted at listening to others. Finished her studies, she entered the real world with two years of civic service in the social sector. She discovered her path and obtained her diplomas as a medical-psychological assistant in 2016 and as an educational instructor in 2020. Fixed-term contracts (CDD) followed one after the other: child protection, behavioral disorders, disability, support for young people major. “I have experienced all kinds of structures. » Exotic hours, mornings, evenings or weekends, suit the young single who is always motivated.

Change of direction

However, Alisson Autin failed to land a fixed-term contract (CDI). “I was the ideal replacement,” she laments. So, she decides to look elsewhere. “To open up other perspectives, I am applying for a sales position. » She gets a fixed-term contract, then a permanent contract and reveals herself. “I loved the administrative work and the more balanced day schedules. » Not for nothing that Alison then managed to have a baby. Marley is born in July 2022, everything is going well.

For the moment, payroll management is not possible, Alisson returns to social work, but without abandoning his desire for change.

Kharinne Charov

Until Alisson learns that his father is doomed by Charcot's disease. It's June 2023. She keeps going at work until September 2023, then she crashes everything, too hard. Priority to his family. “One fight at a time is enough. I accompanied my father until his assisted suicide in Switzerland in October 2024, and that is priceless. »

During this break, Alisson has time to take stock and the desire to retrain does not leave her. “I love social work, but the resources made available are too precarious. » From October 2024, she will knock on the door of Travail to follow two professional integration courses and discover administrative professions in companies. Executive assistance appeals to the young woman, but there are more opportunities to become a payroll manager. Either.

If France Travail does not follow Alisson for complete training, the agency enrolls him in a skills preparation system. In two companies, she refines her project. “The professionalization contract seemed ideal for financing my training, but unfortunately, no boss responded to my applications…”

A little disappointed, Alisson opens another door: by financing her “payroll manager” training with her personal training account (CPF), France Travail can pay the supplement. Banco, hope returns… before the twist: this possibility is replaced by new training financed by the Region. “I had put together my file for nothing…” explains the woman who is enrolling in this new module scheduled at Afpa in in March 2025.

Obstacle course

But Alisson knows she won't be able to follow the session. “My unemployment rights will expire in the middle of the six-month training since I have not worked since September 2023. I am very disappointed, everything is falling through. All these steps have taken a lot of energy from me and I am at the same point as a year ago,” laments the one who will have to return to the social sector, “otherwise, financially, it will not pass into the household budget. »

Alisson agreed to “test [sa] will and take up the challenge in this obstacle course, but if it doesn't achieve anything, it's not good for self-confidence. She deplores that doors are regularly closed at France Travail “where many conditions are set” and among employers who are reluctant to train employees. “We are told that changing jobs is simple, that it recruits everywhere, but we are being sold dreams. » His conclusion is bitter: “you have to think twice before leaving your job to change careers. »

Alisson therefore reoriented his job search towards the social sector, cherishing the sweet dream of working hours compatible with his family life. Without abandoning his desire to retrain. Fighting she is, fighting she remains.
