Zapping Foot National Interview – The underside of amateur Football, with Romain Molina
Good news for overseas football. For many years, the French islands have been trying to make themselves heard about their conditions. This Thursday, January 16, the Executive Committee of the French Football Federation (FFF) was forced to look into the subject, after Cyclone Chido which devastated Mayotte on December 14. As a result, the body decided to put in place an aid plan for the reconstruction and resumption of sporting activities on the archipelago. In support of the local Football League, the FFF will also request fundraising from FIFA and UEFA in order to speed up the process.
And that's not all. Indeed, a general secretariat specific to the overseas territories will finally be set up. The latter, which will be presented at the end of February to all overseas elected officials, will be responsible for implementing a reinforced funding plan. It will also have to contribute to the formats of national and territorial competitions as well as the statutes of each of the overseas territories.
