A new milestone reached for Burger King in this town of Loire-Atlantique

A little over a year ago, in December 2023, the American channel Burger King confirmed its desire to set up one of its fast-food restaurants in Bouaye (Loire-Atlantique).

His patience paid off since December 2024the building permit was granted.

Near Mac Donald's

It is at 6159, rue des Coteaux de Grand-Lieu, on a plot of 3,900 m² located between Lidl and MDA, that the future Burger King will be built, in place of the former Auto Flash second-hand garage.

And less than 500 meters from its competitor Mac Donald's, established in Bouaye since 2008, which tried to prevent this installation.

In court

The latter had asked the courts, in June 2023, to annul the order of the mayor of the commune who had not opposed the division of land. But, in August 2023, the Nantes administrative court dismissed the McDonald's restaurant in Bouaye.

This episode had not disgusted the fast-food brand, “guided by a national development strategy”, she emphasized in an email sent to the editorial staff in December 2023.

A 299m2 restaurant

First in the country of Retz, this future Burger King restaurant, with a surface area of ​​299 m²will offer a capacity of 85 indoor seats, including three dedicated to people with reduced mobility.

On the exterior side, a 47-space car park, a drive-thru track and a terrace will complete the new business. It is also planned to plant 16 trees, or one tree for three parking spaces, we can read in the building permit file.

Instead of a garage

But before the work (and the two legal months of appeal), it will be necessary to demolish the old Auto Flash second-hand garage, 514 m2²built in 2005 and still present on the ground.

“Too early to confirm…”

When will the work start? And the opening? When contacted, Burger King did not wish to provide further information, even returning to the guarantee of its establishment in Bouaye.

A year ago, the brand reminded by email that the opening of one of its establishments represents “more than 50 new jobs in the city, but also career opportunities, real springboards in terms of development. »
