How to share road space between all users? This is the question of the second episode of the podcast Twiston which Delphine Klopfenstein Broggini, Green national councilor, and Nicolas Leuba, president of the Vaud section of the Swiss Automobile Professional Union, debated. The format of this debate, based on games, challenges and discussions, pushes them to overcome their divisions to seek common solutions.
I find it interesting that there is still a consensus around the need to build dedicated cycle paths.
According to figures from the Federal Statistical Office, around three-quarters of Swiss households owned at least one car in 2021, and 29% reported having two or more. According to the same source, 61% of Swiss households had at least one bicycle in 2021, and 39% had two or more.
I would like us not to forget to talk about the transport of goods too, which is booming now, with internet commerce; and with the fact that it is a mode of transport that arrived in the city when it was not planned
