On January 15, 2025, at 2:30 p.m., a police patrol intervened on a known deal point in Les Escanaux in Bagnols-sur-Cèze. As soon as they arrived, lookouts raised the alarm by shouting “Ara”.
One of them, a young man of 20, fled with an Aldi shopping bag. Quickly pursued by two police officers, the individual put up violent resistance. he kicked one officer in the head, bit the other's thigh, and punched them several times.
Injury report
The two injured police officers were treated medically. As Objectif Gard reports, one of them received two days of temporary incapacity for work (ITT), while his colleague, more seriously affected, was prescribed 21 days of ITT.
Seizures and arrests
The suspect, of Brazilian origin, transported 190 grams of cannabis and three grams of cocaine. During his hearing, he admitted the facts, explaining that he was not used to consuming “this type of drug”, preferring “better quality” substances. A second individual, aged 21, was also arrested on site in possession of a gram of cannabis resin and 920 euros in cash. The latter refused to provide the access codes to his phone.

The two men, until then without criminal records, were tried in immediate appearance on Friday January 17, 2025. The young Brazilian, who arrived in Bagnols three days before to provide for his mother's financial needs, explained that he was paid 200 euros per day to participate in drug trafficking, working from noon to midnight.
He was sentenced to 24 months in prison, including 12 months suspended on probation, with an obligation to provide care, work, and compensation for the victims. A committal warrant was issued against him, as well as a ban on staying in Bagnols-sur-Cèze for five years.
His Clermont-based accomplice was sentenced to 12 months in prison. The court ordered the confiscation of the seized money and his cell phone.
