After a series of eight matches without a victory and a worrying 9e place in the standings, the Elephants had to react yesterday. Their evening opponent, Paris Acasa, last with only one victory in ten matches, seemed to be the ideal opportunity to bounce back.
However, it was an NMF in difficulty which presented itself on the floor of room 500 of the H Arena. The first period, poor in chances, nevertheless smiled on the Nantes residents: in the 17the minute, Varsalona opened the scoring with a well-placed shot (1-0). Solidly supported by their goalkeeper, the Elephants managed to maintain their advantage until the break.
“We can be happy with this draw”
Upon returning from the locker room, the Nantes residents displayed an unchanged attitude. With his back to the wall, Paris Acasa returned from the locker room with better intentions. After several alerts, it was with a free kick that the Parisians equalized (1-1, 26').
Solid defensively, Paris Acasa even took the advantage in the 32nde minute, thanks to a perfectly executed counterattack concluded by Sissoko (26', 1-2). While defeat seemed inevitable for the NMF, a burst of pride came at the end of the match: Soukouna equalized in the last moments (39', 2-2), saving his team from another failure.
