Sunday January 19 at 7:30 a.m. (French time), the truce between Israel and Hamas will come into effect. The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced that Israel is preparing to release more than 1,890 Palestinian prisoners over six weeks. In exchange, 33 hostages must be released. Benjamin Netanyahu spoke for his part.

In Tel Aviv, the wait can be read on the signs. The mass crowd hopes for the release of the Israeli hostages. A few hours before the ceasefire, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu raises his voice and imposes his conditions: he demands the list of Israeli hostages before considering any exchange of prisoners with Hamas. Above all, he does not rule out resuming the war.

Despite the truce agreement signed between Israel and Hamas, violence continues. In Tel Aviv, on the afternoon of Saturday, January 18, one person was injured in a knife attack. Earlier today, Khan Younes (Gaza Strip) was hit by missiles sent by the Jewish state. Hamas' health ministry says 23 people have been killed in the past 24 hours. After more than 15 months of war, the fragile ceasefire which is due to come into force tomorrow morning sounds like a relief for the residents.
