Domencio Tedesco is no longer the coach of the Red Devils. His successor should soon be known.
If the Domenico Tedesco page was only officially closed yesterday, it is above all to allow the federation to give itself time. Leaks from negotiations with other coaches confirmed it: our decision-makers did not wait for the official announcement to think about what happened next.
The search for a new coach began several weeks ago. The confirmation of Tedesco’s departure could suggest that the Belgian Union has someone under its belt.
On the set of LN 24, Sacha Tavolieri confirmed that the timing was not trivial and that Tedesco’s successor will be known as soon as possible: “The decision to Vincent Mannert will be taken this weekend,” he says.
-Will the Devils executives be listened to?
The favorite that emerges from the indiscretions around the core remains clear: “The players only have the name of Thierry Henry on their lips”. Until now, the former T2 of Roberto Martinez has denied any contact with the federation.
Tavolieri also explained that he had heard of a lead leading to Julen Lopetegui (former short-lived coach of Real Madrid). But he explains that he cannot confirm this possibility at the moment. For the record, Julen Lopetegui was Spain coach for Roberto Martinez’s very first match at the head of the Devils (0-2 defeat against La Roja in September 2016).
As for La Derniere Heure, we affirm that even more than Thierry Henry, Rudi Garcia is on Vincent Mannaert’s shortlist. Will our national team be led for the first time in its history by a French coach?
