Éric Latour, who is accused of the manslaughter of Ève Chachai, will return to court on February 14.
The file was back at the Chicoutimi courthouse Friday morning.
The prosecutor for criminal and penal prosecutions, Me Karine Inkel, needs time to be able to fully understand certain notes in the medical file. The defense also needs time to study new evidence.
The two parties will meet on January 31 to discuss the file.

Éric Latour was accused the day after an attack at the Le Montagnais hotel in Chicoutimi, which cost the life of Ève Chachai, originally from Opitciwan, last August.
-Mr. Boucher received the autopsy report in the last few days and as Mr. Inkel mentioned to the Court, there are still certain terms that are perhaps a little more difficult for us to understand. So there will be an analysis carried out and there is a meeting planned between Mr. Boucher and Mr. Inkel, I think, by the end of January. So that’s why we postponed the file until February 14
explained one of the defense lawyers, Me François Castonguay.

Members of the Atikamekw community located in Haute-Mauricie were again present for the hearing Friday morning.
We make sure to keep them informed, to involve them as much as possible in the process so that they know why, what is happening, to explain because it is not always easy to understand for why is it done this way? I think that for them it is also a stage of their mourning to be present each time
shared Me Inkel.
