While the PS did not censor François Bayrou on Thursday, the rest of the NFP is waiting to see the socialists' positioning on the budgetary texts to consider the future of the coalition.

Never has the ship of the New Popular Front rocked so hard. By assuming the decision not to censor François Bayrou's government on Thursday, the socialists distinguished themselves, for the first time in the legislature, from their left-wing allies. According to the party of the rose, «concessions» programmatic results obtained during their long negotiations with the Prime Minister justified not sanctioning him immediately. “On the ground, people say they no longer want Macron but they thank us for trying to save the furniture,” reports MP Philippe Brun, who was one of the PS negotiators. At the risk, however, of isolating itself on the left, and above all of putting a dangerous blow to the NFP. “It’s a pain in the ass”admitted a close friend of Olivier Faure before the examination of the motion of censure.
