“I think it was clumsy of him.”
Angélique Angarni-Filopon, the new beauty queen of the French, quickly moved on to TV shows and radio interviews after her coronation. But on January 8, 2025, she found herself at the heart of a controversy after refusing to comment on Charlie Hebdo on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the attack during his visit to Sud Radio. On Instagram, she even had to justify herself: “In my role as Miss France, I owe myself neutrality on certain subjects to avoid any misunderstandings and arouse any controversies.”
Asked by Purebreak on this subject, Ève Gilles defended Angélique Angarni-Filopon. “I think it was clumsy on her part. The first month is very media-filled, everything goes very quickly. She didn’t necessarily manage to find the right words at the time but she’s a very beautiful person and I think that some have judged it too quickly. We must put things in context.she said.
-Misses united against cyberharassment
The year of her reign, Ève Gilles suffered cyberharassment, particularly because of her haircut. Miss France 2025 is also facing criticism at the moment. “When we receive this wave of hatred and harassment, no matter what we are told, we all react differently. We have to give it time to digest things”advised Ève Gilles before giving her full support to her comrade: “Even if we are there for her, she has to be able to get through it herself. When we see each other, we talk about it and I think it does her good. The fact of having experienced the same thing, I can give him help and listen.”
