After a year 2024 marked by the reopening of the town hall and some major works – notably the complete renovation of theSchool of the Woodsthe deployment of fitness areas, the new children's play area in the Forêt district or even the new face of the Nandy Farm-, René Réthorémayor of Nandy, took advantage of the wishes of the municipality, Tuesday January 7, to discuss the municipality's projects in 2025.
Freezing tax rates
First good news for Nandéans, local tax rates will not change. “I am committed to controlling our public finances and despite the increase in charges and the reduction in subsidies, I do not intend to increase the rates, and I will propose, for the sixteenth consecutive year, a budget without increasing the rates of local taxation,” said the Nandan mayor.
But the main expectation obviously concerned the projects for this new year, and there will be many of them, with, among others, the end of the €1 million roofing plan with the renovation of the roofs of the Bergerie, the church and the club house of the stadium, the work on the new Place de la Libération (from March to May), or even the new pump track in the Balory district.
-Three new cameras in town
On the security side, the police force will increase from 3 to 4 agents, three being assigned to the multi-municipal police of Cesson-Nandy and one to the living environment police to manage in particular illegal dumping and violations of town planning rules. . Three new cameras will also be installed in the city: one in the Petit Parc parking lot at Balory, one at the entrance to the forest district and a last one near the city stadium in the Bois district.
The Nandan mayor also mentioned a problematic subject for the municipality, the virtual absence of businesses, after the closure of the Intermarché at the end of 2022. With, again, several files set to be resolved in 2025. “On the southern part, the development permit has been granted, specifies René Réthoré. The building permit for the commercial complex – with an Intermarché of 1,000 m2 and the pharmacy- and housing was submitted in December and should be obtained in the spring, with work expected to begin before the end of summer 2025. And on the side of the Bois district, negotiations with the owners and operators of the different businesses were carried out, and an architect/developer competition was launched at the end of December. The winning project will be chosen before the end of spring 2025 for a program which includes 500 m² of shops at the foot of the building, around a hundred homes for ownership and more than half of the plot transformed into green space. Only the pharmacy will remain in Les Bois until its transfer.”
