If we would obviously have preferred that this duel did not take place or much later in the tournament, Arthur Fils and Ugo Humbert will indeed meet again this Friday for a place in the round of 16 of the Open Australia.
Questioned on this subject by our colleagues from The Teamthe younger of the two, who is trailing 3–1 in his confrontations with Messin on the main circuit, claims to approach this duel with calm and serenity.
“Yeah, it’ll be cool. It's nice to play Ugo, we get along well, we're two good friends. During our last face‐to‐face meeting, we had a great game. We will try, him like me, to do the same, to have fun on the pitch. It's in matches like this that we have fun. I will do my best. I'm still young (20 years old), Ugo is a little older than me (26 years old)… Not much! But a little (smile). I have no pressure. I'm five or six defeats against him for a victory (Humbert leads 4–1 in their confrontations, Challengers included) so I come into the match calmly.
