Following the episode of pollution experienced by the Lyon basin, the Rhône prefecture triggered the orange alert this Thursday, January 16 at the end of the day. This involves the introduction of restrictive measures, particularly on traffic.
After activating the information-recommendation level on Wednesday January 15, the Rhône prefecture has just raised the alert this Thursday January 16, late in the afternoon. This time, it turns orange and is accompanied by several emergency measures.
The circulation of vehicles displaying a Crit'Air 3, 4 and 5 sticker remains prohibited in the ZFE, in accordance with the regulations which came into force on January 1, 2025. However, the exemption “little rollers” issued to certain motorists is suspended in the case of pollution episodes such as this. However, an exemption is granted for private vehicles carrying at least three people.
The speed is also temporarily lowered. It goes from 80 or 90 km/h to 70 km/h on all roads in the Rhône department.
