On the night of Thursday January 9 to Friday January 10, the Restos du Cœur de l'Indre warehouse, in Châteauroux, was ravaged by a fire. A week later, distribution resumed and a call was launched to find a new storage location.
15 000 euros of donations to the Restos du Cœur disappeared during the fire in a room of the association, in Châteauroux.
The fire broke out in the industrial zone of Boulevard d'Anvaux, near Déols. It took the firefighters several hours to bring it under control. A investigation is underway to determine the exact cause but according to the first elements it appears to be an accident.
The fire apparently started from a warehouse used by the food bank et the Restos du Cœur. The building was destroyed. “He is unhealthy“according to Pascaline Noury, the managing director of the latter association, who responded to Alouette's questions:
-The association stopped distribution to beneficiaries for a few days and resumed this Wednesday, January 15.
The Restos du Cœur de l’Indre are now looking for a new premises equivalent – at least 400m2 – to ensure “the next big collection of donations, between March 7 and 9″specifies Pascaline Noury.
The association is also looking for their new president. The former president, Christian Vaslin, left his post in September 2024. Pascaline Noury is present to take over in the interim.
