There is something new in the file for the implementation of a Burger King in Pontivy. In July 2024, when we asked the American fast food chain about its intentions to set up in the north of Morbihan, it replied to us that “as part of our development, we are studying several projects on the the entire French territory, but none of them currently concerns Pontivy. »

Six months later, Monday January 13, 2025, same question. But Burger King's response suggests a different epilogue: “As part of our development, we are studying several projects throughout France and in particular in Pontivy. » And added: “However, it is too early to confirm a location in the city. »

“No comments”

According to our information, Burger King could set up on the future site Pondi Parkat 60 rue Albert-de-Mun, about 100 meters from McDonald's, another fast food giant.

A building permit was submitted in November 2024 to the town hall. The town planning department told us that this permit (Pondi Park) was currently being examined, therefore cannot be communicated to the public…

When mentioning the arrival of Burger King, Paul Le Guernic, deputy for economic attractiveness, evades the question of a laconic “no comment”, which is hardly like him…

Contacted, the promoter of Pondi Park, François Boishardy, specifies that it is “a global building permit”. He doesn't want to dwell on the subject either. “It’s too early. This project is behind schedule. This is a file that has lasted for three years and which has undergone twists and turns…”

No Burger King in Ploërmel

A Burger King in Pontivy would not be out of place at all. This chain already has three restaurants in Morbihan, but all located on the coast: Lorient, Lanester and Ploeren. But, none inland.

In June 2024, his plan to open a fourth restaurant in Ploërmel fell through. The latter was to be built on Avenue Georges-Pompidou, in place of the old Caf, which was to be demolished before the end of 2023. When the arrival of the brand was announced, many Ploërmelais jumped to the plate… Regrouped in the RBH56a association, they had filed a request with the administrative court of Rennes, at the end of July 2023, to cancel the building permit issued in February 2023. Burger King has so threw in the towel.

Not far away, in Côtes-d'Armor, the town hall of Loudéac granted, on Saturday September 14, 2024, a building permit filed by SAS Burger King Construction. The old restaurant at the entrance to the Triskell-Synergie zone will be demolished to build a Burger King. On a plot of land of nearly 3,700 m²the restaurant will cover a floor space of 287 m².

A pet store and a textile discounter

In Pontivy, the Pondi Park project provides for the construction of several commercial units distributed in two buildings, on a plot of approximately 9,000 m²located next to the Grand Frais store.

On the metal fence surrounding this vast plot of land, a sign gives a visual overview of the project: “Commercial cells available from 400 m² ».

Still according to our information, in addition to Burger King, a pet store, as well as a textile discounter could also set up in Pondi Park…
