Mountain holidays are no longer just about 100% alpine skiing. During the Christmas holidays, the 21 Nordic areas of the Southern Alps did well. The results are good with a turnover up 30% compared to last season.
Proof that tourists are increasingly diversifying their activities, the bar of 17,000 skier days has been exceeded throughout the massif, in the Hautes-Alpes and in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence. This very good start to the 2024-2025 season is partly due to better snow conditions than last season.
The Outdoormix festival starts tomorrow in Vars
Next high-Alpine meeting for Nordic sports enthusiasts, tomorrow at 5 p.m., a cross-country ski race is scheduled as part of the Outdoormix festival. The all-sports festival has once again set up shop in Vars, for three days of competitions, major shows and concerts. Many free initiations are planned in the entertainment village which will open tomorrow in the heart of the resort. Registrations for competitions are still open online.
