The participants recommended taking into account the effects of climate change on agriculture, while calling for support for professionals so that they can continue their activities and also help improve the yield of the main crops in the province.

The Larache provincial council has just held its ordinary session on Monday, January 13, with three items included on the agenda for this meeting. Chaired by Abdelhakim El Ahmadi, president of the said provincial council, and in the presence of Bouassam El Alamine, governor of the province of Larache, this ordinary session began with the study and examination of the situation and the evaluation of agricultural performance throughout the territory. Especially since, known for the diversity of its crops across the different areas of the province, the agricultural sector offers real growth opportunities for the economy of Larache and its region. The debates therefore focused on the challenges facing farmers and breeders in the province. And this in particular in view of climate change and its effects on agricultural yields in recent years.

The participants recommended finding means for the improvement and development of production systems in this territory. Thus, they called for taking into account the effects of climate change on agriculture, while calling for support for professionals so that they can continue their activities and also help improve the yield of the main crops in the province.
On the other hand, elected officials examined and approved the amendment to the partnership agreement relating to strengthening support for educational activities and the development of school transport in the territory. This agreement linking the provincial council to those of the municipalities concerned aims to improve the learning and development conditions of students from disadvantaged backgrounds and rural and isolated areas in the province of Larache. The objective of all stakeholders is to help facilitate students’ access to their educational establishments and fight against school dropouts in the province.

On the cultural aspect, elected officials proceeded to examine and approve the third point linked to financing worth more than 116.65 thousand dirhams to ensure the connection of the Space of historical memory of the resistance and from the liberation of Larache to the water and electricity networks. This project aims to contribute to the rehabilitation and renovation of this space. It is part of the efforts made for the preservation and protection of cultural and historical heritage in the province.
