Morocco in Group A alongside Kenya, Angola, DRC and Zambia – Telquel.ma

VWinners of the 2018 and 2020 editions held in Morocco, the Atlas Lions will play the group stage in the city of Nairobi.

For its part, Senegal, defending champion, was placed in group D alongside Congo, Sudan and Nigeria.

Following the withdrawal of certain teams during qualifying, two places remain available. Additional qualifiers will be held to determine the teams that will occupy these positions.

Initially scheduled for February 1 to 28 in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, the CHAN has been postponed to August 2025, CAF announced, noting that CAF technical and infrastructure experts, some of whom are based in the three host countries , have required additional time to ensure that infrastructure and facilities are at the level necessary to successfully host the competition.

The exact start date of CHAN will be announced by CAF “in due time”, indicated CAF in a press release published on Tuesday.

Here is the composition of the groups:

Group A: Kenya, Morocco, Angola, DR Congo, Zambia

Group B: Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic

Group C: Uganda, Niger, Guinea, Q2, Q1

Group D: Senegal, Congo, Sudan, Nigeria

Q1 and Q2 represent the teams that will qualify from additional tournaments preceding the competition.
