It is an unmissable and essential event every five years: the census. The commune of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne (Gironde) is no exception to the rule. This large-scale operation, which will take place from Thursday January 16 to Saturday February 15, 2025is actively preparing.
A team of five agents
To ensure this vast census campaign, the municipality recruited a team of five agents spread across urban and rural sectors.
Patricia, well known to Sauveterriens, is back at it for the 3rd time. Sabine grew up in Sauveterre and is preparing to explore familiar neighborhoods. Thomas, “board games” facilitator at the media library, is very curious about this first experience. Claude participates to finance his next trip, while Régis, Monségurais, adds a new adventure to his rich journey.
Responses are anonymous
These five agents will roam the streets, neighborhoods and hamlets from mid-January, identifiable thanks to their tricolor card. They will strongly encourage residents to respond via the internet, a method that is now simple, quick and economical. For those who prefer paper format, they will arrange an appointment.
The answers will remain tcompletely anonymous and confidentialINSEE being the only organization to have access to it. So don’t hesitate to give the best welcome to these census ambassadors! Your participation is essential to accurately assess the population of Sauveterre-de-Guyenne.
Important step for the municipality
The stakes are high for the Gironde city. During the previous census in 2019, the population was estimated at 1,872 inhabitants. Since then, estimates show a slight increase to 1,885 souls. But the official count will decide: will Sauveterre-de-Guyenne cross the symbolic milestone of 2000 inhabitants?
“Whether or not to move into the 2000-3500 inhabitants bracket involves advantages and disadvantagescautiously responds Mayor Christophe Miqueu. But above all it is an essential operation to best adjust equipment and services to the real population. »
