An episode of air pollution has been underway for several hours in the Lyon basin and northern Isère. The Rhône prefecture announces that the information-recommendation level will be activated from this Thursday, January 16.
An episode of pollution is underway this Wednesday, January 15 in the Lyon metropolis and the north of Isère, and has been for several days. Consequently, the prefect of Rhône, Fabienne Buccio, activates the information-recommendation level for the Rhône department from January 16.
Recommendations
The air quality is considered “poor” by Atmo Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, the air quality observatory in the region.
“The increase in particle concentrations initiated the previous days continues. It remains contained by a sustained northerly wind in the afternoon, but does not spare Puy-de-Dôme, where orange vigilance is activated. The index The expected atmosphere is mostly bad in the region's large cities,” explains the observatory.
If “no measure is binding at this stage”, the prefecture has listed a series of health recommendations. Travel on major roads is therefore not recommended for the most vulnerable populations, as are intense activities, whether outdoors or indoors.
Air quality will still be “poor” on Thursday January 16 for fine particle pollution and even “very poor” on Friday January 17.
