The days follow one another and are similar. After a radiant morning, the sky is getting cloudier inland and along the slopes this Wednesday afternoon. A few showers cannot be ruled out, towards Takamaka and the heights of Saint-Leu. Showers are expected in the evening on the eastern coast. It's still just as hot, with 32 to 34°C on the coast.
This morning, Wednesday January 15, 2025, begins under the sun. A few clouds circulate along the sides of the volcano, but without bringing the slightest shower. In the North, the last traces of humidity disappear with the first rays of the sun.
Coverage is greater at the start of the afternoon, however Météo-France La Réunion points out: “The precipitation amounts to one or two scattered showers over the terrain, favoring, as the day before, the heights of the South-West and the South. The sun dominates the coastal areas, in the cirques and in the mountains, but the sky is partially covered on the side of Saint-Pierre.”
A new wave of clouds approaches the windward coast in the evening. It should bring showers which will last part of the night.
The northeast flow remains sustained. This wind (60 to 70 km/h) is noticeable along the New Coastal Route and along the shores of the wild South. Gusts of 50 km/h rise towards the heights of the capital, but also towards Mafate, La Plaine-des-Cafres and Salazie. A regime of moderate breezes reigns along the western and south-western coastline.
The maximum temperatures do not drop. Once again, the thermometers display 32 to 34°C on the coast, 28 to 31 in the cirques, 23°C at Maïdo and Pas de Bellecombe-Jacob.
The sea is generally rough.
