A new experiment was launched on January 1 in the Roumois and Bernay intercommunality sectors, in the Eure department. The garbage bins of residents and traders in a total of 116 municipalities have been transformed to equip them with an electronic chip, integrated via a red support on the lid.

The chip can be read by the garbage dumpster as it passes by, to know the number of collections made for each household at the end of the year. “ The principle is to present your bin when it is full, as infrequently as possible to reduce the volume of waste and therefore the bill paid in the end. » explained Vice-President Précoval (public waste treatment service West of Eure), Valéry Beuriot.
