Another complicated morning for train users in Normandy. At Paris Saint-Lazare station this Wednesday, January 15, 2025, many connections with the region are announced late.
On the information boards at Paris Saint-Lazare all Normandy trains are delayed. +30 minutes for connections arriving from Caen, Rouen, Evreux, Le Havre, Serquigny, Vernon-Giverny and Cherbourg. At Caen station, some trains are 45 minutes late.
According to the SNCF, “the train traffic is disrupted between Mantes-la-Jolie and Epône-Mezières in both directions of traffic” due to a power supply fault in the Epône sector (Yvelines).
The problem identified shortly after 6 a.m. this Wednesday morning is being resolved but will disrupt rail traffic until early in the morning.
During the intervention of the SNCF technical teams, the trains take an alternative route via Conflans-Saint-Honorine (Yvelines) thus causing additional delay. The resumption of traffic is estimated at 8:40 a.m. this Wednesday morning at the earliest.
On X, some travelers share their exasperation: “40 min delay on Friday, deleted yesterday, and delay of at least 30 min today… when will you reimburse us for the subscriptions? You really have to not have heart problems, the state of the lines and trains is deplorable“
Other traffic is also disrupted in Normandy: near Lisieux (Calvados), a train hit an animal causing further delays on the line towards Caen.
In Vernon (Eure), another train is delayed after an intervention by the police.because of a reluctant traveler“, specifies the SNCF.
