And accident is a difficult time to live who can confuse minds of the victims and their families. To help them better orient yourself et understand the situationassociations such as Victims and futureare founded in Seine-et-Marne. Maud Escriva, the deputy director of the structure, shares with us her point of view on accident rate in the department.
An association
Created in 2016, the Victimes et Avenir association is growing more and more. ” I was insurance intermediary. I was confronted with personal accidents and the insurance companies were the alone to direct the victims“, she testifies.
It nevertheless clarifies the role of its structure: there is no member who has been a victim or the relative of a victim of a road accident in order to alert on a particular point. These are professionals who come help families assert their rights.
“Accidents are all different. For example, we explain to victims why their accident was dismissedor we can mobilize to reopen business for which certain avenues have not been explored,” supports Maud Escriva. Their objective, on the other hand, is to avoid at all costs that these families throw themselves “into a judicial gear if not necessary.”
Facing the state of astonishment in which we can find ourselves after an accident, we are not aware of the compensation that we can also claim. “We go further than in criminal situations,” she adds.
-Another style of prevention
In the newspaper, Maud Escriva follows the various road accidents which occur in Seine-et-Marne. “ There are many of them. In recent months, they seemed particularly serious, with the helicopter deploymentSometimes several times in the space of two days,” she assures.
According to numerous files, she also notes developments in accidentsnotably the lack of caution. She then describes: “The behavior people driving has changed. Some drivers forget that beyond their private cabinils circulate in public spaces. »
If she deals with what's at stake after an accidentshe is also part of another association which tries to prevent drama. “I believe a lot in prevention. But not the way it is made today,” she asserts. Then describing a too Manichean visionshe regrets the notable absence of prevention on the actions to take facing a risk.
“We help drivers to react in certain specific cases: emergency braking, avoidance, catch up with your skidding vehicle…,” she lists. For her, it is important tocombine theory with risky behaviors, but also the practice in the face of danger.
She now wishes to go further to find a simplification of compensation for victims, by streamlining the work between the different actors and insurers. She concludes: “We should set up local road victim assistance committees (Clav), as is done for terrorism or domestic violence.
