In an attempted fraud which is being practiced more and more often in professional football, Kike Salas was arrested and taken into custody by the Spanish police on Tuesday.
The Sevilla FC defender is suspected of having received several yellow cards voluntarily, while those close to him were betting on this specific bet with full knowledge of the facts. A crime obviously for which an investigation was carried out in complete discretion by the Spanish authorities, according to El Confidencial. The 22-year-old footballer and two of his relatives are suspected of having set up this scam and all three are currently being questioned. In addition to the important stakes, Kike Salas did not do well either, since at an end to the season without challenges for the Andalusian club, he received a yellow card in each of the last matches of the season, not missing only one due to suspension.
