Plump lettering on sweaty skin. The Gymnase Club ad played the card of sweaty minimalism and maximum mystery. While the opening looms on January 16 with, on the decks, a wealthy trio of hip-hop DJs (Warren Ko, Urumi and Andy 4000), we know a little more and it's rather exciting.
Moldings, natural wine and hip-hop
The place first. No need to come with your towel, this Gymnase Club is not really located in a gymnasium but on the first floor of the Gymnase theater on the Grands Boulevards. We're going to move our knees in a gallery with Louis-Philippard moldings and ornate chandeliers that are completely out of step with the hyped urban image of the evening. The real plus? The vast terrace on Boulevard Bonne-Nouvelle where you can smoke and get some fresh air on sunny days. If the Gym Club starts slowly with one session per month for three months, in the spring it should accelerate to three monthly dates. Behind this strange project, we find an improbable team: Jean-Samuel Halifi, organizer of the Paname biennial; Alexandre Teslar, artistic director of the theater and Eliott Roule, the owner of the cool Ave Pizza Bar. Because yes, we take care of our figure in this Gym Club with lots of pizza and natural wines! In short, all this gives a seductive hybrid address reminiscent of Chop Chop in the mix of genres. There is a worse model!
