A stabbing attack occurred Monday morning near Hillcrest High School, on Dauphins Street in Ottawa, and left two people seriously injured, including a teenager.

Ottawa police were called to the scene around 9:10 a.m. and placed the school on lockdown as a safety measure. A large police force was deployed on site.

According to authorities, both victims are in stable condition.

“A seriously injured teenager was stabilized on site before being transported to hospital. Another person went to a local emergency room before being transferred to a specialized hospital center,” said Marc-Antoine Deschamps, spokesperson for the Ottawa Paramedic Service.

So far, few details have been released about the circumstances surrounding the attack.

The investigation is ongoing and Ottawa police are asking anyone with information to come forward.
