While AS Saint-Étienne has shown renewed form in recent weeks, Saint-Etienne leaders are busy behind the scenes during this winter transfer window. With only three weeks remainingthe objective is to adjust a workforce which remains largely perfectible. Irvin Cardona's return on track

Among the certainties that emerge, the return ofIrvin Cardona seems to be coming to fruition. After six successful months in Forez, the striker wants to come home. A loan with a purchase option would be under study to enable its sustainable return. The Greens even hope to benefit from its contribution upon receipt of the FC according to L’Équipe. Asked about the subject, Eirik Horneland preferred to remain evasive, simply evoking “adjustments to this transfer window”.

Sadibou Sané, the new defensive track

But another name surfaced during this press conference, that of Sadibou Sané. This young 20-year-old Senegalese central defender quickly stood out for his precocity, starting in Ligue 1 with FC against Clermont in September 2023. With already 16 apparitionsit asserts itself as one of the revelations of the year 2024 in Lorraine. Aligned against ASSE during the play-offs, he accompanied Metz in Ligue 2 where he confirmed his good abilities.

A promising and affordable young talent

Sadibou Sané is estimated at only 1.5 million euros and remains under contract with the Garnets until 2028, proof of the confidence of its leaders. Although Horneland did not wish to comment on this track, the Senegalese media Match 360 claims that ASSE has shown its interest in the Senegalese central defender. However, the discussions are said to be on standby, with FC Metz hoping to keep their player despite the requests. A case to follow closely for the Greens…
