Alexis Rello96 years old, was born on May 18, 1928 in Saint-Gérand (Ker-Audrain). After going to Paris, Alexis will work as an agent in hospitals, mainly at the Bretonneau hospital, in the 18e district of Paris.
The job probably didn't fascinate him that much because, in 1956, he joined the national police. He made a career there and worked in Paris and Saint-Denis, before ending his career in Épinay-sur-Seine, with the rank of brigadier-chief.
May 1968, with the shield!
Alexis experienced May 1968, but on the other side of the barricades, “with the shield!” » Alexis is a great sportsman: running, cycling and cross-country skiing, he has covered kilometers for his pleasure, but also to beat the local champions.
It was in the early 1980s that he asserted his retirement rights and moved to Saint-Gonnéry with his wife Madeleine.
Which makes his two sons say: “Grandpa spent more time in retirement than at work!” “.
Alexis was 17 years old at the end of World War II. He will also pass through Indochina and the Algerian war, undoubtedly because of his job… His three grandchildren are today proud of their grandpa Alexis.
What are your best holiday memories?
For me it's family meals. Madeleine was a good cook. She had no equal when it came to making a Christmas meal with a chicken and an excellent log. I have always liked to eat well. I remember as a young teenager, my Christmas present was a simple orange. I was happy with that…
What was your best trip? And if there was another, what would it be?
The memory I have of one of my most beautiful trips was to Norway. I really liked the welcome, the human warmth. I also visited Canada with its lakes, forests and beautiful landscapes. Today, if I could, I would go to Greenland. An inhospitable land that certainly hides beautiful things to discover. And why not China!
If you had the chance to meet someone, who would it be? For what ? And what would you say to him?
As cycling was my passion, I greatly admired Bernard Hinault. I saw him running. For me, the “Badger” had character. I would also have liked to meet Bernard Thévenet… I would congratulate them on their great sporting career. They made me vibrate with pleasure, so I would say thank you to them…
You are 96 years old, do you have any regrets?
No, no regrets. If I had to redo my life, I wouldn't change a thing!
What is your wish for 2025?
My wish for 2025: only happiness for all. Maintain health and good friends. And, with a slightly mischievous look: may everyone be like me, always in a good mood!
