The organization which manages the treatment of household waste in 167 municipalities plans to modernize the Monthyon Energy Recovery Unit. This tool processes some 148,800 tonnes of waste per year by burning it. SMITOM would like this process to ultimately be able to produce heat to heat homes throughout northern Seine-et-Marne and even as far as the neighboring department of Aisne. He will present his project during a preliminary citizen consultation meeting. It will be Tuesday January 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Monthyon village hall.
