A slight earthquake occurred last night
According to the volcano monitoring site “Réunionbystat”, a slight earthquake of magnitude 0.9 occurred last night at 12:03 a.m., at a depth of 3km.
“A slight earthquake was recorded at shallow depth on the island of Reunion. Although of low magnitude, it reminds us that our island is an active volcanic and tectonic land”explains Réunionbystat. According to them, this earthquake could be linked to the activity of Piton de la Fournaise or to minor tectonic adjustments.
