You are coming off a big match in the Champions League, against Rapid Bucharest (33-21), where you played the entire match following Floriane André’s withdrawal. How do you feel after such a performance?
I am naturally very happy with my match (51% saves). It was a very fun match to play with the other girls on the team. And starting the year in the Champions League with a victory, at home, is the best thing that could have happened to us. Afterwards, it was of course not planned for me to play the whole match, but unfortunately “Flo” (Floriane André) was injured before the match. For me, it hasn’t changed much: I’m always ready to play. And I wasn’t alone either, Mélina (Cantin, 3rd goalkeeper) was on the bench.
“Personally, I could see myself staying one more season, but the managers decided otherwise. That’s how it is, that’s the life of the hand…”
As luck would have it, you released this match just after the announcement of your departure from the club at the end of the season… How were things decided?
It’s a club decision. Personally, I could see myself staying one more season
but the leaders decided otherwise. That’s how it is, that’s the life of handball. The good news for me is that I found a new challenge very quickly by signing for Esbjerg, and I am really very happy about it.
Before that, there is a season to finish with Brest. How do you envisage the months ahead?
-Clearly, the best thing would be to be able to leave Brest with one or more titles in your pocket! By doing the cup-championship double for example! We will do everything with the other girls to get there, without forgetting the deadlines linked to the Champions League, which remains the most prestigious competition. And that’s good: I sincerely believe that we can accomplish great things together.
* Katharina Filter had signed for one year + one year option. Which the club therefore did not wish to activate.
