The Navetanes suspended in Guédiawaye

The prefect of Guédiawaye had to take strict action after the scenes of violence noted in the popular championship commonly known as Navetanes.

Through a note, the prefect of Guédiawaye, Mr. Ahmadou Coumba NDIAYE, announced the suspension of Navetanes in the department.

“Article 1.- The competitions of the National Popular Championship (CNP) “Navetanes” in the Department of Guédiawaye are suspended, from January 11, 2025 and until further notice, for the following reasons:

-recurrence of scenes of violence and aggression after matches;—destruction of public and private property;
-permanent threats of disturbances to public order.

Article 2.- The Central Commissioner of Guédiawaye is responsible for the execution of this order which will be recorded, published and communicated wherever necessary”, we read in the note
