Our continued partnership, focused on strengthening border security, demonstrates our unwavering commitment to the security and well-being of the Senegalese people”declared the American ambassador to Senegal, Michael Raynor, in a press release.
This donation includes the latest generation of night vision goggles, satellite positioning systems (GPS), protective helmets, ballistic shields and cutting-edge medical equipment.
The official handover ceremony was held on Tuesday January 8, 2025 at the Regional Tactical Training Center in Thiès.
It is part of a multi-year program of cooperation between the United States and Senegalese security forces, aimed at strengthening their capacity to detect and neutralize threats, improve border security and fight against illicit trafficking of drugs, weapons and human beings.
“Through joint training programs and increased resource sharing, our collaboration strengthens national and regional security, underscoring the depth and strength of the U.S.-Senegal security partnership”concludes the press release.
