The accident of a coach of the German company FlixBus traveling between Germany and Poland left two dead and injured Saturday on a motorway in the north of the country, the company said in a press release. The accident occurred in the afternoon on the route between Berlin and the Polish city of Szczecin, specifies FlixBus.
Among the 14 people on board, including a driver, “two people died. The other occupants were transported to nearby hospitals,” it is written. “Our thoughts are with all those affected by this accident and their families,” underlines the company.
“The exact circumstances of the accident are not yet known,” adds the company. “We are of course working closely with the local authorities and emergency responders on site and will do everything possible to quickly and completely clarify the cause of the accident,” she adds.
German media footage showed the bus overturned on its side along the highway barrier near thick piles of snow.
In March 2024, the accident of a FlixBus coach carrying 54 people in eastern Germany left four dead and many injured.
FlixBus is a German company operating a large fleet of long-distance coaches in several European countries, Morocco and the United States.
