A traffic accident took place this Wednesday 11 December at Allinges. He was around 17 h 50 when two vehicles entered, for an unknown reason at this stage, into a head-on collision on the RD903, at the place called Le Rebaty, a few tens of meters from the turret radar in service for less than a year.

The driver of the second vehicle in a state of shock
Two people, a driver and his passenger, were in the vehicle heading towards Allinges. The driver, an 81-year-old man, was unconscious when emergency services arrived. He could not be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, an 85-year-old woman, was evacuated by helicopter in absolute emergency to Geneva hospital, but she did not survive her injuries. The driver of the second vehicle, which was heading towards Thonon-les-Bains, was unhurt but in a state of shock when emergency services arrived.

Departmental Directorate of Territories, firefighters, police and helicopter were still on site at 7 p.m. hours this Wednesday evening, while big slowdowns were observed on both sides of the D903 and even in the village of Allinges, the accident having occurred in dense traffic, on an axis used to flow of border commuters.
