Patrol officers from the Laval Police Department (SPL) arrested a 38-year-old man after he lost control of his vehicle and rolled over several times on the Highway 15 South service.
The incident took place around 2:52 a.m., the time of the 911 call, on the night of Friday January 10 near Boulevard du Souvenir.
Emergencyly called to rescue a man on board his utility vehicle, which ended its swerve completely overturned on the driver’s side, the first of the 14 firefighters required for the intervention, i.e. 4 units from the Laval Fire Safety Service and their officers, realized that they were going to have to use their extrication pliers as soon as they arrived on scene.
It was then 2:58 a.m. Then, using their tools, the firefighters quickly managed to free the victim and free him from his SUV whose inflatable balloons had been triggered.
From 3:15 a.m., it was paramedics from Urgences-santé who took charge of the thirty-year-old driver in order to transport him to a hospital center to treat minor injuries, not without the SPL police officers having first warned him that he was arrested for drunk driving.
The SPL is still continuing its investigation into this road accident.
Finally, let us point out that the driver at fault was alone in his vehicle.
