“We are currently in the time of the consecration of women, and therefore of young girls. And it is happy that the government has decided, through the Ministry of National Education, to take more care of young girls, concerning their schooling environment, programs, public policies concerning this target,” affirmed , yesterday, Professor Ndioro Ndiaye, during National Girls’ Education Day. Offered as a model of success to young girls on occasion, Ms. Ndiaye stressed that this target is fundamental, because it is the future of the country.

“It is important to mention that we have made undeniable progress over the past half century in the promotion of young girls. Because all the donors, all the structures which deal with development, are interested in this target, and in all the countries of the world. And Senegal benefited from this availability,” she said.

However, she notes, if the State does not anticipate the dominance of girls in school structures, there may be a question of imbalance within the population.

“As much as boys are currently ahead, in middle school, in elementary school and especially at university, in higher education, girls have made significant strides. And not only are many of them now reaching the stage where they can compete and pass exams and in these competitions, they come out the best. So you still have to be careful, create a balance and balance,” she points out.

She believes that we need thinking structures that anticipate this type of problem. “Because it’s true, now things are going to be taken care of or are already taken care of. We will accelerate the pace and improve the investments we make there. But, at the end of the day, we must avoid solving one problem in order to create others. Because each group has a role to play and should play it so that we can hope to have in the end something concrete which can improve the conditions of development of our country,” insists the former minister under the socialist regime.

Professor Ndioro Ndiaye invites the authorities to also equip schools and training centers with drinking water addiction networks and also toilets for both girls and boys.
