The events took place on Sunday December 29.

On December 2, 2020 in Calvignac in the Lot, while he was cutting wood in his garden with his brother Rowan, Morgan Keane, 25, was “mistaken for a wild boar” and shot dead by a hunter living in Montbazens in Aveyron.

There followed a long legal sequence which ended on January 12, 2023 with the conviction of the author of the fatal shooting to two years in prison and the definitive withdrawal of his hunting license. The director of the hunt received an 18-month suspended prison sentence and the withdrawal of his hunting license for five years.

Four years after the death of Morgan Keane, reports the Facebook group “One day a hunter”, on Sunday December 29, hunters shot a wild boar on the same Keane property, still inhabited by Rowan, 50 meters from his door, and abandoned their game there.

During the trial, “the judge had however recalled that the land around Morgan’s house was prohibited for hunting, and the land now belonging to his little brother was classified as an ASPAS refuge (Association for the protection of wild animals, Editor’s note) after the tragedy“, recalls “One day a hunter”. However, according to the group, “cThis is not the first time that hunters […] come back to hunt near Morgan’s house“. Friends of Morgan Keane suspect that it is the same hunting company that organized the fatal hunt in December 2020 that came to hunt on the Keane brothers’ own land and are considering “all possible legal remedies“.

ASPAS has already announced its intention to file a complaint: “If it turns out that the same hunting company is at fault, we will request its immediate and irreversible dissolution.“, she warned.
