It was an incredible affair which took place on Tuesday January 21 in the Italian city of Cosenza in the Calabria region. At the end of the afternoon, a woman posed as a nurse and entered the nursery of the commune clinic, and came out with a baby in her arms.
She allegedly kidnapped the infant with the complicity of the man who accompanied her. The two individuals then fled by car according to local newspaper Rai News.
The identity and profile of the perpetrators of the kidnapping were quickly revealed. The members of the couple actually call each other Pink Vespa, 51 years old, she is originally from Cosenza, and Aqua Moses, 43 ansof Senegalese origin. The police quickly identified them and began looking for them.
The couple was in the middle of a “birth party” when the police arrived
To celebrate the baby's arrival as young parents would have done after giving birth, the couple organized a “birth party”.
The next day (Wednesday), the couple was arrested at their home in Castrolibero, a village located just a few kilometers from Cosenza. But as they enter the apartment, the police officers can't believe their eyes.
“When we entered the house we first saw a blue bow and when we knocked we saw guests who were there to celebrate a birth” of little Sofia, a child kidnapped the day before, declared Claudio Sole, police commissioner.

The couple had planned everything for the fake arrival of their baby, right down to decorating the room all in blue. But the kidnapped baby is indeed a little girl. Disturbing elements which caused a feeling of astonishment among the police officers sent to the scene.
“As soon as we entered, we saw people in disbelief and also the woman's husband. Then I asked the woman where the little girl was and she showed me a room, where there was a cradle with the little girl dressed in blue. Everything was decorated for a boy. The woman then became silent. The emotion took over the tension we had at first. I took her back and never left her side. Investigations are also underway. understand to what extent the husband knew that the child was not his daughter”continued the police commissioner.
Little Sofia was able to find her real parents
Investigators then looked into the couple's past. They then discover that the story dates back several months. Indeed, Rosa Vespa, 53 years old, who for a few hours was a false mother and a false nurse, had simulated pregnancy for 9 months et had announced her delivery on social networks. The period of publication coincided with the date of birth of little Sofia who was kidnapped.
The child, barely a few days old, is fortunately in perfect health according to the Italian press. After this forced escapade, she found her parents, relieved and filled with happiness.
“We are a mother and a father who died and were born yesterday. But the happy ending is here. That Sofia is well. Thank you all”, his mother wrote on social networks.
