The Moroccan automotive sector displays remarkable resilience despite a generally uncertain economic context marked by geopolitical crises, rising fuel prices, and increasingly strict conditions of access to credit. This strength is reflected in impressive figures, both on the new and used vehicle market.

As for used vehicles, the year 2024 broke records with 775,121 transactions recorded, an increase of 28.5% compared to 2023. The passenger vehicle segment represents almost 72% of this total, with 537,299 units sold, while light utility vehicles (LCV) reached 237,722 transactions, up 21%. This exceptional dynamic can be explained by the financial accessibility of used vehicles, their immediate availability, and the variety of models, often absent from local dealerships. However, the market remains largely dominated by the informal sector, with only 2% of transactions going through organized circuits, despite growing efforts to structure this sector.

At the same time, the new vehicle market is also experiencing a revival. City cars and SUVs dominate sales, thanks to a diversified offering adapted to the purchasing power of Moroccans. The premium segment is also progressing, with growth of 7%, while electrified vehicles, although modest in market share, show a spectacular increase of 54%.

In major Moroccan cities, demand continues to grow, except in Agadir, where the market remains stable due to less interest in MPV vehicles. In addition, the fast-growing tourism sector is boosting rental sales, which now represent a third of the market, with some brands reaching +50% in this segment.

To support these changes, structuring initiatives have emerged. Among them, a NARSA platform allowing you to check the legal situation of used vehicles online. This system helps to reduce fraud and strengthen the transparency of transactions. Furthermore, dealers are increasing the number of subsidiaries specializing in used vehicles, offering guarantees that appeal to an increasingly demanding clientele.

In a sector undergoing rapid transformation, the Moroccan automobile market, whether new or used, illustrates a dynamic scope through innovation, adaptation to local needs and progressive organization, paving the way for sustainable growth.
