Sixteen Canadian students and two professors are visiting Beni Mellal, from January 5 to 19, 2025, as part of a fruitful cultural and academic exchange with Moroccan students. During the visit of this Canadian delegation to the Social Reintegration Center in Ouled Mbark on Monday January 6, 2025, explanations were presented to them by Abdenbi Halmaoui, president of the Muslim Charitable Association, and its other members.

“The visit made by a delegation of students from the Center for General Professional and Pedagogical Studies, Saint Hyacinethe College, Quebec in Canada, to Beni Mellal, falls within the framework of the partnership agreement signed between the Association regional for heritage and development and the Maabir Center for the studies of history, heritage, culture and development in the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region which subsequently became a partnership with Sultan Moulay University Slimane. Thus, we are supervising 16 Canadian students and two professors from January 5 to 19, 2025. During this visit, the emphasis will be placed on a large number of studies and research as well as on the achievements that have seen during the day in the Beni Mellal-Khénifra region. Today, Canadian students visit the Social Reintegration Center in the commune of Ouled Mbark to learn about the tireless efforts made by the Muslim Charitable Association to inquire about accommodation and support for people in a situation of vulnerability…”, underlined Mohamed Amili, university professor and president of the Regional Association for Heritage and Development.
For his part, Dr. Abdenbi Halmaoui, president of the Muslim Charitable Association, declared, during the arrival of Canadian students at the Social Reintegration Center, that this visit is a consecration and that it will breathe a new dynamic into relations of communication between Moroccan and Canadian students through the exchange of a large number of ideas, points of view and experiences. “With a total capacity of 60 people, the Ouled Mbark Social Reintegration Center currently only houses around thirty men and women in precarious situations. The Muslim Charitable Association of Béni Mellal has therefore undertaken a unique project aimed at improving the living conditions of elderly people residing in the city’s social center. This project resulted in the transfer of these residents to this new Social Reintegration Center located in Ouled Mbark, meeting modern standards and adapted to the specific needs of this population. This project was made possible thanks to the collaboration of several actors, notably the National Initiative for Human Development (INDH), National Mutual Aid, and the regional health directorate of Béni Mellal,” added Mr. Halmaoui .
Speaking during this visit, to the aforementioned center, Candice Cornet, professor of ethnology and anthropology, department of human sciences at the CEGEP of Saint-Hyacinthe, underlined: “We are making a visit to Beni Mellal to meet students Moroccans and other relevant operators to enrich our knowledge horizons. The goal is to introduce our students to another culture and establish good communication with Moroccan students. We are for open-mindedness, curiosity and pacification. Thus, we are very happy to visit Morocco which has dazzled us with its warm welcome and its socio-economic and cultural development…”.
Note that the Canadian students who arrived in Beni Mellal on January 5, 2025 visited the ancient Medina of Beni Mellal on January 6, 2025. Subsequently, their visit will focus on the social complex of Ouled Mbark, the Maasra (crushing unit ) olives Ain Asserdoune, the Sanad cooperative in Ouled Mbark, the training center for artisans, the Agropole, the Festival of paratroopers at Ouled Yich airport and a meeting with students from the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Béni Mellal, the rural commune of Ait Boulli in the province of Azilal and the city of Marrakech.
