Since 2016, a cake a little special is sold in the Bas-Rhin department, at the time of the epiphany.

A savory specialty

Instead of cake, talk about kings pie. A savory specialty therefore, which, instead of a filling made of almond powder, butter and sugar, contains one or more meats seasoned.

Like their sweet cousin, each pie contains a beanallowing the one who finds it to be designated, like the king and the queen.

An initiative of the butchers of Alsace

We owe this initiative to the butchers and delicatessen caterers of Alsace. It is the latter who developed this variation of the Galette des Rois to promote their work. The pies are therefore sold in their stalls.

This year, the new collection includes six variations.
