OMNISPORTS – A page will be turned at CDOS

It was Monday evening at the Maison des Sports in the last ceremony of the wishes of the CDOS, chaired by Marcel Glavieux, who will have remained in place for around thirty years and who will not leave for a new mandate.

The representatives of the disciplines belonging to the CDOS were obviously present with the exception, however, of the elected officials who could be counted on the fingers of one hand and that is a shame. It was up to Vice-President Claude Hatté to address first to the crowds and set the scene. With a little touch of emotion, which is normal, Claude Hatté who is the oldest member of the CDOS since he was, 40 years ago, at its creation with his friend Roland Duportalso from the world of handball, then gave the floor to Marcel Glavieux who, a year ago, had been the victim of a bicycle accident and which had caused him to be unavailable for a long time.

“Tonight is a special moment since these are my last wishes in this Maison des Sports. Allow me to pay tribute to each of you for your commitment, your unfailing investment. 2024 was a year where the Samarian sporting world lost certain members (notably Daniel Lefèvre) and let's spare a thought for them. 2024 also confirmed the role of the sports movement in the success of the Olympic Games throughout the department. In particular the renewal of sporting events with many rewards, medals and also sometimes disappointments. We can also welcome the partnerships which have greatly helped us in our actions: National Education and USEP for schools, the Prefecture and SDJES for SNU, the departmental council with the sports village, the AMF for the challenge of the sportiest city without forgetting the departmental committees. I recall the objectives achieved in their own field defined by the CNOSF by the vice-presidents with the mobilization and participation of hundreds of students in events organized within school structures. Their goal was to introduce people to Olympism in partnership with the USEP and I would like to mention Sylvaine Bouchez who was able to convince the students of the benefits of sport. »

Marcel Glavieux also thanked the personalities present, notably Mr. Coquillat President of the Regional Olympic and Sports Committee and representatives of the department and the association of mayors of the . It’s a shame again that the elected officials were not present at the time. Marcel Glavieux will therefore leave his functions at CDOS two years after those at the Somme football district. With of course a little regret, even bitterness.

On March 14, he will perhaps be present at the elective general assembly of the CDOS, but discreetly, in the room. Before leaving the stage, Marcel Glavieux launched this final appeal : “The new committee will have the task of continuing the work carried out in recent years for the promotion and development of the sporting world and implementing the roadmap of the new CNOSF. We will have to be inventive, because the economic context will require requirementsbut let's trust them since the volunteers have always been able to overcome difficulties. We will need to pool skills and resources”.

It will also be necessary make this House of Sports better known that many athletes do not know. This will require better communication and, above all, better relations between the CDOS and the authorities. The evening ended with the honoring volunteers proposed by the committees as part of the 2024 Samarian Volunteer Trophies.
