The Seine-Saint-Denis department announced this Tuesday the regrouping of its central services in the Pulse building. A big change for some 2,700 agents who will join in a year the former headquarters of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (COJO), located straddling Saint-Denis and .

The meeting room of the departmental assembly and the headquarters of the department will remain in the prefecture hotel in . But a little less than a third of the community's workforce will move to Place du Front populaire, at Pulse, where the 2024 Olympic Games were organized.

60 million euros in savings

These services are currently spread across eight different sites. “The savings generated through this consolidation will make it possible to launch an ambitious investment plan of 60 million euros over four years to renovate and modernize other departmental sites, for the benefit of all departmental agents.“, explains Stéphane Troussel, the president (PS) of the department, in a press release. The project will provide savings estimated at more than 10 million euros per year, thanks to reduced rents and a significant reduction in energy costs. This savings plan aims to renovate decentralized sites by the end of the mandate.

Scheduled to begin at the end of 2025, the operation will not be completed until the first quarter of 2026. The new community site will also be open to the public, with the installation of the House of Autonomy and Carers.

A solidarity house in Bobigny

This move marks a significant transfer of part of the community's activities to the Plaine Commune territory, while Pulse is shared between Saint-Denis and Aubervilliers. The department specifies that it is working with the municipality of Bobigny to reuse the vacated buildings. “In addition to maintaining the departmental headquarters, departmental archives or other services, the decentralized services will be grouped together in a new Solidarity House. At the same time, several projects will continue to energize the town, such as the upcoming inauguration of the Prisme, the expansion of the Parc de la Bergère, the creation of a social and environmental innovation center (IRD) near the town. , the extension of T1 or the Tzen3 project“, says the department.
