Alone in the world – Today Morocco

Alone in the world – Today Morocco
Alone in the world – Today Morocco

The list of states that still continue to recognize an imaginary entity, in this case the SADR, is becoming smaller by the day. And above all, it no longer includes most of the major countries and powers around the world, almost all of them having long sided with the legality and legitimacy of the Moroccan cause.

As such, the last two victories of Moroccan diplomacy are particularly interesting and confirm the approach of the end of this issue. In South America, a region known for supporting the Polisario gang and their Algerian mentors, the political class of Paraguay and particularly elected officials have officially ratified a resolution in favor of supporting Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara. The natural consequence which should not take long would be a withdrawal of recognition on the part of the Paraguayan State.

At the start of 2025, another defection was recorded in another historic stronghold of the SADR, namely the English-speaking African countries, with Ghana’s official announcement of the withdrawal of recognition. Already within the major international, regional, continental and main institutions, the issue seems to be almost bent, starting with the UN and the Security Council, almost all of whose permanent members have expressed their support for Morocco.

Soon, there will probably only be the Algerian state left which, as usual, will be alone against the rest of the world…
