“Strong disruptions” expected in Brussels transport on Monday: what should we expect?

The Stib anticipates major disruptions on its network on Monday January 13 due to a day of national union action on the issue of pensions.

The Stib announced this Tuesday that its metro, tram and bus network would be severely disrupted on January 13, due to the participation of some of its staff in joint union action. This national mobilization focuses on the defense of pensions.

The Stib unions have invited their affiliates to participate in this action, which will cause significant disruption across the entire network.“, said the public transport company.

Reduced service but continuity assured

Despite these difficulties, the Stib has assured that it will do everything possible to maintain part of the service.

Travelers are encouraged to regularly consult real-time information channels, such as the Stib website, its mobile application, the screens located at stops, as well as its social networks.

Stib customer service will be mobilized from 6 a.m. this Monday to answer questions via social media and by telephone at 070/23 20 00.

What are the alternatives for getting around?

The Floya application, dedicated to multimobility and developed by Stib, will offer routes adapted according to the lines in service. It will also allow users to find alternative travel solutions such as bicycles, scooters, taxis or shared cars.

To limit inconvenience, the transport company recommends that users plan their journeys in advance and consider alternative travel options for this day of mobilization.
