OM – LOSC: the FFF announces a first hard blow for the Marseillais

Next Tuesday will take place the clash of the round of 16 of the Coupe de between OM and LOSC. It is Clément Turpin, black cat of the Phocaeans, who will referee it.

This Tuesday, one week before the clash between Olympique de and LOSC at the Vélodrome, in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France, the FFF revealed the name of the referee who will officiate that evening. This is Clément Turpin. A name which, invariably, makes Marseille supporters shudder, who have not forgotten the setbacks passed with him. Like his grand slam in 2022-23, with four defeats in the four matches he managed in L1 (0-1 in , 1-3 against , 0-3 against Paris and 1-2 in ). Some marked by very contentious decisions, like the goal denied to Alexis Sanchez at Bollaert, which was a turning point in the race for 2nd place.

This season, nothing to report with him!

But things may have changed in this 2024-25 season. Clément Turpin has managed two OM matches so far, for as many victories! The first was in (5-0), the second against Monaco (2-1). During this meeting, the referee awarded a penalty to Marseille at the last minute, converted by Mason Greenwood.

For their part, the Mastiffs don't really have anything to complain about Clément Turpin's refereeing. This season, he was in charge of their 2-1 victory over TFC on matchday 7. In the past, he has officiated during good moments (a 3-0 victory at Lens in 2020-21) and other more difficult ones (the 1-7 at home against Paris in 2022-23).
